When planning our engagement photos, we tried our best to avoid being too cringe/barf worthy. We succeeded for the most part, we think. We're pretty proud of what we posted in the gallery.
But, we're not always as grounded and glamorous as we appear. In the spirit of over-sharing, we want to show some of the photos we're still laughing about.
1. Annie Goes Jack [Way In The Back]
When you like Jack, but you just wish he was a little smaller...
2. Engagement Photos That Engage With Others
While taking some romantic shots in UNC's arboretum, this happened. We don't even know these people. They were just walking by, and rather than quietly waiting for them to pass by, we asked them to take a photo with us.
3. The Touched By An Angel Photo
We cannot stress enough how much Jack hates this picture, and how much Annie loves it. The lighting makes it look like a classic movie still. So soft. So romantic. This one almost made the gallery cut, but we decided to scrap it at the last minute because it didn't fit the overall style we were going for. #maritalcompromises
4. "Baby! Tell 'em How European I Am!"
Annie speaking here: I am SO glad this photo happened. Because in years to come, if I'm ever angry or annoyed at Jack, I will look at this photo, and it will make me feel better. Some people can work the no-smile look. Clearly, we are not those people.
5. Subverting Heteronormativity With Dance
Cute idea in theory, but we both look like fools.
6. Just Trying Things On
Jack: "I'm just a regular guy standing with my lady. No big. Look at my pink tie."
Annie: "Dude...we are so high."
7. Engagement, Brought to us by American Apparel
So we were feeling funky, and actually included this last one in our gallery, even though it looks like an American Apparel ad. It happened in an elevator in the library, again, just trying things on. That's just what we're about.

Annie & Jack
Love. Marriage. Teamwork. Art. Offsetting the patriarchal footprint. These are some of the things we're thinking about.
